Volunteering and Visiting at Village of Hope

Volunteering with the Village of Hope is very attainable and can certainly be life changing. Whether you are looking for a way to make a difference in the world, gain new experiences and training, see new career possibilities, take a gap year in your education, be adventurous, share your faith, have always had a desire to see Africa, volunteering can help you achieve these aspirations and more.

Village of Hope is located in a beautiful valley next to Lake Victoria called Gwassi, situated in South - Western Kenya. There is no specific volunteering skill that is needed. We welcome all kinds of talents such as photography, film making, painting, teaching, building, nursing, or even just spending time with girls and primary students who need extra love and care. Your visit will be individually designed around your strengths and passions but congruent with current projects and needs that are happening with Village of Hope. A 1-2 week stay is most popular and recommended for first-timers, as Africa can require a lot of adjustment on your part. Volunteering and visiting for a longer stay is possible, but evaluation and approval from the Village of Hope directors is required. Application is required no matter the duration of your stay. All volunteers must be at least 18 years of age or be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
